The Little cu-cu

Just like a pendulum swings from one side to the other, right and left, showing time passing by, slowly but steady: tic, tac, tic , tac , tic , tac , tic , tac. . . . . Just like that very same pendulum that was swinging from my grandparent's big old house's clock, I've been swinging between control and impulse.

That pendulum, that long pendulum that I used to watch when I was a little kid, is still hunting me down.

Back in those days I remember watching it swinging, very slowly, dragging, showing the minutes left to see the little cu-cu coming out to mark the top of the hour. A little cu-cu that would come out; would said "cu-cu, cu-cu" and then would go back inside for the next hour.

One very good day I couldn't wait any longer and just pull the damn pendulum with both hands. Hard, I pulled it hard, tired of waiting. And the whole clock -with a piece of the brick wall- came down, missing my red-haired head by mere inches, hitting the tile floor. Oh, Shit!

I got to see and hold the little cu-cu for as long as I wanted to. I hold it and play with it for a while, until my Grandmother didn't buy my: "noise? what noise? I didn't hear anything Grandma".

Oh hell. First my Grandma, then my Dad when he picked me up later that evening; and then my Mom when I got home; they all spanked my ass! Spanked it big time!

But I got to hold the little cu-cu.

Today I couldn't wait for the pendulum to swing and mark the right time to buy my shit and I pull it!

Let's see what happens when the whole clock with a piece of the brick wall -if not the whole wall itself- comes down on my red-haired head.
